While using a hand-saw, Mr. A. Brown, carpenter, 374 Tinakori Road, cut off the top of the second finger of his left hand yesterday, and was taken to hospital from the King’s Wharf, where the accident happened, by the Free Ambulance. To encourage young'players, the New Zealand Women’s Hockey Association at a special meeting last night decided to try to make price concessions to junior teams desiring to see the test match between tire Fiji women’s team and the New Zealand team at the Basin Reserve on August 8. Several members pointed out that many players in the junior teams would find it difficult to pay to see both the Wellington match and the test match, and it was felt that some effort should be made to give such players an opportunity to see the games.
