DEADLOCK OVERCOME
Taranaki Rugby Referees
and Union
By Telegraph—Press Association,
New Plymouth, June 19,
The deadlock caused by the North Taranaki Rugby referees refusing to referee matches because the Rugby Union suspended all privilege passes to representative matches has been overcome, at least temporarily. A conference between the two bodies resulted in the union agreeing to referees using passes for the next representative match, after which the position will be reviewed by the union and the referees’ association.
