NO “TAGS” ALLOWED

Provisos on Public Works Tenders By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, June 18. The Public Works Department has intimated to tenderers for departmental contracts that in future it will not allow "tags" to be added to tenders making provision that tenders are subject to adjustment in the light ot amendments to the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act. In recent months it has become customary for such a proviso to be added to tenders, and some of those received by the Public Works Department for the erection of the Styx railway overbridge were “tagged" in this way. None of the tenders for this work have been accepted and the contract is to be readvertised, with an instruction that no “tags” are to be attached to the tenders.
