Wellington and Wairarapa Teams TO PLAY AT NAI NAI It has been decided by the Wellington Hockey Association that Saturday’s representative match, 'Wairarapa v. Wellington, will be'played at Nui Nai instead of at Karori Park, the ground previously chosen. The match will begin at 3 p.m. The senior grade selector, Mr. IL Hatch, announces the following team to represent Wellington: Goal, C. Moore; full-backs, W. Shaw, S. Wilson; half backs; Harrison, Chambers, Bramwell; forwards, Gapes, 'Wheatley, Cooper, Edwards, Martin. The telim to represent Wairarapa will be as follow: —Goal, Tilgesley; fullbacks, 11. B. Massey, R. Byers; halfbacks, N. Knutson, N. Worsfold, A. Stubbings; forwards, T. Hooper, T. Bickel!, S. Fisher, V. Sayers, D. Jackson. Emergencisc. C. Knutson (back), V. Brazendale (forward). The Wairarapa team will be accompanied by Mr. J. Fisher as manager and Mr. D. Burgess as umpire. UNIVERSITY HOCKEY Tournament Commences To-morrow The annua] inter-L'niversity hockey tournament, held alternately in Wellington and Christchifrch, will commence at Karori Park to-morrow. Each year the five colleges—Auckland, Massey, A ictoria, Canterbury and Otago—compete for the possession of the Seddon Slick, at present held by Canterbury, who deieated Otago in the final at Christchurch last year. To even up the draw Victoria have entered a .second team consisting of senior B players. The personnel of the visiting teams is not yet known, but from repor’s received there should be some keen contests, ami Canterbury will be hard put to retain their title. The Auckland team has been weakened by an Auckland representative team drawing on their players for a re preventative match. Some of the Massey College players will also be playing in the Manawatu representative team tomorrow, but as they have drawn a bye in the first round their chances should no*' be affected. The Massey team has improved considerably during the last year and defeated a Victoria team st Palmerston North recently. Play will commence to-morrow afternoon, when Auckland will meet Otago and Canterbury will meet the second Victoria team. Massey ami Victoria L who have drawn byes, will play a practice game. In the semi-finals r.n Monday morning, Victoria will meet the winners of the Auckland-Otago game, and Massey the winners of the Canterbury-Victoria If grime. The final will be played on Monday afternoon, friendly games being arranged for the eliminated teams. WELLINGTON v. COMBINED UNIVERSITIES On Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, the second New Zealand University eleven will play Victoria College Old Boys and the first New Zealand team will meet a Wellington representative team. These games are to be played during the morning as the Auckland players will leave during the afternoon. The team to represent Wellington is as follow: —Goal. J. Marshall; fullbacks, O. K. Perrin, K. Falconer; halves, C. Dixon, E. McLeod, R. Harrison ; fo.wards. Gapes, T. Ferguson, E. Adams, Brown (Huia), D. Larnach. Players unable to play are requested to notify the secretary of the Wellington Hockey Association by 5 o’clock this afternoon. REPRESENTATIVE MATCH By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hawera, June 18. In a fast and open hockey match at Hawera yesterday, .South Taranaki defeated the Piako tourists by 7 goals to 1.
