JT is announced that Elisabeth Bergner, who has been seriously ill in London, will not return to the stage until the (English) autumn at the earliest, the result being the poslpone-
meat of her new play, Barrie’s “The Boy David.” She is lucky to be alive at all. A perforated appendix almost robbed Ihe theatre of her genius. After appearing in only one play in Britain. “Escape Me Never,” she has drawn to her a group of people
to whom she is more than just an actress. These l are the people with whom she has worked. Foremost among them is Mr. 1!. Cochran. “All of us who have met her love her,” he said.
