South Island Championship Dog Trials

The South island championship dog trials opened at Mosburn.on Tuesday, but it was not until late yesterday afternoon that the first event, the long pull, was completed, 'i’lio course is on the properly of Mr. Guy Chewings, and competitors are present from Canterbury’, Ihe West Coast, Otago ami Southland. Results: —•
Heading, Bringing Baek and Holding in Ring.—L. Charleson’s (Waikakaj Lance. 1661 points, 1; R. M. Wilson’s (Waikare) Fly, 160 points, 2; lan Anderson's (Kurow) Glen, 1591 points. 3; L. Dawson’s (Mossburn) Flo, 151) points, -1: M. A. Matheson’s (Middlemarch) Glen, 1574 points, 5; J. Anderson’s (Kurow) Toby Junior, 156 points, 6.
Heavy intermittent showers of sleet and falls of snow to-day made conditions unpleasant and difficult and caused serious delay in Ibe running of the second event, the hemline, pull ami vnrding. Of the 56 competitors, little over half had run when an adjournment was made at J o'clock.
