Dr. Mawson’s Expedition (From “The Dominion." June 20, 1011.) Dr. Mawfon is going to Paris to disctitw with the Prince of Monaco the matter of the deep-sea dredging gear, which will be n present from the prince, in preparation for hio Antarctic expedition. The prince lias already arranged for- one of the scientific staff of Dr. Mnwson’w expedition to undergo training at the Oceanographical Laboratory at Monaco. Dr. Mawson states that the Aurora, which will carry the expedition into Antarctic waters, will be dry-docked. She in a roomy ship, a little smaller than the Terra Nova. IB # • A deputation of cab proprietors and horse owners will wait on the ActingMinister of Customs, Hon. R. McKenzie, at 2.30 p.m. to-day. The object of the deputation is to ask that the duty on chaff be remitted on aecountjOf the high price now ruling in Wellington.
