SLIDING SCALE FOR TAXATION
Japanese Suggestion Tokio, June 14. The Government is considering a new method of taxation, says the Finance Minister. Mr. Eiichi Baba, based on a sliding scale providing for either minimum, medium, or war-time expenditure, as the new national policy necessitates. The Government has lifted the ban from pulilie meetings, which has operated since tile militarist outbreak in February. It is understood that the raising of the state of martial law will follow.
