RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP

Interesting Fixtures at

Athletic Park

Poneke and Athletic, two of the top four senior teams, will meet to-day in the main Rugby match at Athletic Park. Athletic is the second team at present, two points behind Wellington College Old Boys, with Poneke one point behind Athletic. The match should provide keen, and hard football.

A particularly interesting curtain-rais-er should be the match between Johnsonville, the leading team in the second division, and Athletic, which occupies third place. It will be the first appearance at Athletic Park of Johnsonville. Hutt will play Eastbourne at Hutt, and Petone will play Marist Brothers* Old Boys at Petone. Wellington Collega Old Boys and Wellington will play at Prince of Wales Park.
