Sir George Wilson arrived at Wellington yesterday from Auckland.

Sir Louis Barnett spegt yesterday iu Wellington and left again at night ou his return to Dunedin.

Sir Hugh Acland spent yesterday in Wellington, and left at night on his return to Christchurch.

Bishop Brodie, Roman Catholic Bishop of Christchurch, arrived at Wellington from the south yesterday. Dr. M. H. Watt, Director-General of Health, returned to Wellington yesterday from the south. Mr. A. E. Hefford, Chief Inspector of Fisheries, returned to Wellington yesterday from the South Island. Mr. H. D. Acland arrived at Wellington from the south yesterday. Dr. C. de Monchaux, Dunedin, travelled south last night from Wellington. Mr. H. 8. E. Turner left Wellington last night for Christchurch. Mr. J. Fletcher was a passenger for the north last night from Wellington.

Dr. E. F. D'Ath, Dunedin, spent yes-terday-in Wellington, and left again for the south at night. Dr. P. Clennell Fenwick arrived at Wellington yesterday from Christchurch, and left again for the south at night.

Mr. R. McKegg and Mr. E. A. Reid, of the Rarotongan Fruit Exporters’ Association, left on their return to Rarotonga by the Maunganni from Wellington yesterday. Mr. M. T. Greig, M. 8., Ch.B. New Zealand, has been appointed university demonstrator in the Department of Anatomy, Cambridge, for three years from October 1.

Mr. G. Springhall, managing director of Armstrong and Springhall, Limited, Wellington, returned to New Zealand by the Aorangl, which arrived at Auckland on Sunday.

Mr. D. M. Gillies, superintending engineer at Sydney for the Union Steam Ship Co., who, with Mrs. Gillies, is on holiday in New Zealand, arrived at Wellington from tlie South Island yesterday morning. The Rev. L. H. Hunt, on account of sickness, has resigned the charge of the Karorl Presbyterian Church, and his resignation was received with regret by the Wellington Presbytery last evening. Mr, Hunt has'been minister of the Karorl Presbyterian Church for the last three years. It was stated that Mr. Hunt would probably be able to resume the ministry in 12 months’ time.

Mr. D. M. Tombs (Wellington) has returned to Berlin after a visit to London, states the “New Zealand News.” He is tlie holder of a Robert Blair Fellowship awarded by the London County Council and is engaged in research work In physics. Mr. Tombs, who is an old boy of Nelson College, came to the University of London six years ago, aud after graduating M.Sc., received a research position In the Siemens firm, Woolwich. Mr. Juliau B. Foster,,who was Trade Commissioner for the United States of America in New Zealand up till two years ago, and who has since tilled the position of Trade Commissioner for the United States of America in the Straits Settlements, with headquarters at Singapore, lias been advised, of his transfer to another post. Mr. Foster, who has many “rlemls in Wellington, where he married Miss Henrietta Leckie, will leave Singapore for America in November. The Rev. Charles Freer Andrews, vice-president of Rabindranath Tagore’s Institution, Santiniketnn, Bengal, India, arrived at Wellington from Auckland yesterday ami left lust night for the South Island. In the morning he met members of Parliament, was entertained at luncheon by the Wellington Rotary Club, and addressed members of the Student Christian Movement's executive in the afternoon. Mi. Andrews will return to Wellington on June 22 to conduct a university mission before going on to Auckland and Australia, where he will conduct missions at all the centres ami leave finally on July 7.
