Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending 3 p.m. to-day:— An : nti-cvclone is moving slowly eastward off New Zealand. A shallow depression is advancing across the north Tasman Sea. and a rather deep one is crossing Tasmania; but an intense anti-cyclone covers the greater part of Aus-North-easterly winds over the northern half of the North Island; elsewhere north to north-west, light to moderate, but gradually freshening. Wanganui.— Fine but dull and overcast. Wainukurau.— BeaiUiful weather over the week-end. A sharp frost yesterday morning was followed by a day of brilliant sunshine. The barometer was steady. Christchurch.— Fine, with a very light south-south-west breeze in the morning and a light north-east in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 50.8 deg. The barometer was falling and last evening registered 30.10 in. Auckland— Fine but overcast and unsettled. The barometer wns falling slowly and registered 30.35 in. Dunedin.— The warmest day experienced for some weeks, the maximum temperature being 60deg. The sun shone for 7 hours 20 minutes, the longest period of daily sunshine since the end of May. The barometer fell in the afternoon.
