Wrestling at the Leichhardt Stadium for the British Empire championship Tom Lurich defeated the Englishman, Douglas Clarke by two falls to one. Lurich secured a fall in the third round from a reverse headlock and body press. Clarke evened in the fifth from a body press. Lurich took the deciding fall in the sixth with a body press after he had punched Clarke in the face.
