Use of cosmetics by young womi’n introduced a lighter note into a discussion whether wealth could be attained in a Christian manner at a "topic of the hour” meeting held by the Southland Presbytery. The subject was raised by Mr. G. E. T. Dorman, who was one of the main speakers for the evening. “Why doos the modern girl pluck her eyebrows and paint her face?” he asked. “Her aim is to get a man, a certain amount of wealth, a home and satisfaction. What will she say on Judgment Day when it is discovered that her eyebrows are missing? Isn’t it a reflection on the Almighty that, she is not satisfied with the face God gave hert”
