Mornington Competitions The Stableford bogey competition for the Hardwickc trophy, played on the Morrtitigton links on Sunday, resulted iu a win for C. Touks. 23*12-35. Next came T. O’Kelly, 23-11-34; D. Hartwell, 23-10-33; W. J. Wheeler. 21-11-32; A. E. Clarke, 25-7-32; F. W. Andrews, 24-8-32; T. G. Denniston, 21-11-32; W. Taylor, 22-10-32. In the junior division, L. Cocker, 21-15-36; 1.. .1. Nicholson, 20-IG-36; and M. De Woolf, 19-17-36, tied for first place, and will piny off on Sunday morning. The next best scores were: S. Ward. 21-14-35; It. Pattison, 17-16-33; A. A. McLean, 16-17-33; C. A. Armstrong, 18-14-32. The final of the Black Cup competition was played on Sunday between K. W. Stephen and F. A. Wells, the former winning 3 and 2. As both these players had displayed good form throughout the event, a keen tussle was expected. Neither could produce their earlier form, both being over-cautious, resulting in indifferent scoring. There was never more than one hole difference throughout the game up till the thirteenth hole, where the match was square, but from there on Wells fell away and lost three holes in a row. The fourball best-ball bogey event was won by W. Charles and L. Cocker, who. finished 5 up, the next best cards being A. G. Minifie and U. P. Caleinai. 4 up; C. A. Armstrong and T. McWhirter, 3 up; R. Smith and S. Ward, 3 tip; A. E. Watkins and W. Wheeler, 2 up. Next week-end the first rounds of the Brett and Stratnmre Cups will be played.
