Upon the expiry of his short service commission in the Royal Air Force, Flying Officer Guy L. Menzies, wno flew the Tasman Sea solo in 1931 in ibe Southern Cross Junior, has been offered and has accepted, a permanent commission. Promotion to the rank of Flight Lieutenant followed immediately upon his acceptance of the further p.er.od of service. He has recently been flying fighters.
