The theft of benzine from motor ears in Auckland is still common. It is particularly prevalent on the north ern side of the harbour, where drivers park their vehicles before crossing by passenger ferry. One motorist, a re.-ti dent of Birkenhead, has been the vic tini of regular benzine thefts, wlmh he did not begin to suspect until nis car was overhauled for investigation because of unusually heavy benzine ‘‘consumption.”
