Farmers’ Union President
Sir, —Having had no response i'roin Mr, Polson in connection with my challenge to debate the question of fixed prices for farmers’ products. 1 am taking a new line. Mr. Polson is reported to have said in ttie Wairarapa district "that if an election were held at the present time the Labour Government \ would go out ou this question.” Well, Sir, I would be sorry to disappoint Mr. Polson, and he bus it in bis hands to make an election possible. I suggest that he resign his seat as member for Stratford and offers himself for re-election. I will contest the seat against him, and should he be successful, my friends will pay his expenses. This offer is made with the proviso that there be no split vote, and I will stand as an Independent, but it elected, will vote for the present Government. Now, Mr. here is your chance. —I am, etc., 11. lAN SIMSON. 17 Hatton St., Karori, Wellington, May 23.
