Reporting on the weekly Feilding stock sale yesterday, Abraham and Williams state that the tone remained firm on recent rate throughout every section. In the store sheep section, a good yarding of reliable breeding ewes of all ages was submitted, the demand for these being sound. Ewe and wether lambs also sold freely at late rates. A heavy yarding of fat ewes, of which the quality on the whole was not up to the usual standard, resulted in values suffering accordingly, but prime ewes made late rates. In the fat lamb section, values ruled -in accordance with the quality of the offering. An average pen of dairy cattle was submitted, making rates on a par with recent, values, but for good quality Jersey heifers, the market showed signs of hardening, although a heavy yarding of fat cattle, comprising mainly cows ex dairy, met only a fair market, while odd pens of station-bred cows and bullocks sold at about freezing parity. A fair yarding of slation-bred cattle met a sound demand at slightly reduced rates to those ruling recently, but nevertheless, practically a total clearance was effected.
