Accident Near Levin
Levin, May 24.
At about- 4.45 last evening a _ light truck driven by a Maori, Ruku Paki, who was accompanied by his wife, while proceeding westward down Mako Mako Road, left the bitumen and collided with a telephone post. It was extensively damaged and the extension post at the top of the pole carrying electric light wires snapped off. The occupants of the truck were thrown clear.
The following matches are to be played in the Bush Basketball Association’s senior inter-club competition, 'in the Pahiatua Drill Hall, this evening:— Athletic v. Rovers, at 6.30 p.m.; Konini v. Waratahs, at 7.45 p.m.
