Playing ou their home courts, the Levin Badminton Club met defeat at the hands of the Manawatu Central club’s representative team last night by the narrow margin of two sets and 22 points. In all, the visitors won 13 sets and 301 points to the home team’s 11 sets and 279 points. Many of the games were productive of excellent badminton, and the result was in doubt right until the last match had been played. Following are the detailed results, visiting players being mentioned first in each case:—•
AVomen’s singles: Miss T. Rodden beat Mrs. C. Dunn', 15-4; Miss P. Rodden beat Mrs. McKay, 15-6; Miss N. Orchard beat Miss I’. Forsythe 15-7; Miss M. Hancock lost to Miss Al. McLean, 11- Miss C. Neagle beat Miss J. Forsythe. 18-13; Miss R. Burrell lost to Miss K. AVickens, 5-15. Manawatu Central, 4 sets, 79 points; Levin Regent, 2 sets, 60 points. Men’s singles: R. Duncalf lost to 0.
