Y.W.C.A. ACTIVITIES

“Rainbow Triangle”

Scheme

Witli many alert minds at. work, groat progress was made in the plans for the forthcoming Y.A’.C.A. city girls’ finance effort, at t'he business girl-' committee which met last week. It was interesting to hear from representatives that it is the general feeling of girls in the various firms that a money-raising scheme on a non-com-petitive basis is universally favoured and the committee feels that such an expression of opinion marks a distinct advance it: the spirit, of_ seiyice _in which such an undertaking is being begun. , , A sub-committee reported on an attractive, non-competitive scheme which if had planned, and tills received careful consideration. “Ranbow triangles” will form a gay and colourful background to the more businesslike matters of money-making, but the latter presents no serious problems to the modern business girl, who contrives to add the maximum of enjoyment, to the job in hand. The" “rainbow triangle” scheme encourages small as - well as large firms to have a share in the girls’ city-wide effort and firms will choose one of four amounts, varying from £5 to £5O. as the goal which they will endeavour to reach during the month of June Already a number of groups have signified their willingness to take part. To launch the drive, the city girls’ committee is planning a large business girls’ reception next week, at which the guests of honour will be Miss Ethel Morrison and Miss Elaine Hamill, of the J. C. Williamson Company.
