LEVIN RACING CLUB

Year’s Working Shows Good Profit Dominion Special Service. Levin, May 22. There was a good attendance for the annual meeting of the Levin .Racing Club, Mr. Walter Ryder occupying the chair. The report upon the successes of the past year's working was enthusiastically approved. The report stated that notwithstanding the fact that £BB bad been written off buildings for depreciation, the club showed a net profit of £216/11/10. The extra day granted the club in June last was largely responsible for this. With no outstanding liabilities, the bank balance stands at £360. During the past year the old outside booth was replaced with an up-to-date structure. Sincere regret was expressed at the deaths of the club's late president, Mr. W. G. Vickers, Mr. Fred Davies, a steward. and Mr. John Ryder, a life member. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patrons, Messrs. C. L. Hunter and L. G. Lowry, M.P.’s; president. Mr. "Walter Ryder; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. Bull, T. Bevau, W. Higgins, W. Winiata, J. W. Procter, and Dr. S. J. Thompson ; stewards. Messrs. T. Buddy, C. Boyle. A. Cameron, W. Capper, W. C. Hannan, S. L. Jackson, G. B. Mexted, R. W. Mcßeath, L. G. McDonald, I'l. M. Ryder, S. J. Sievers, and W. C. Stannard; auditor, Mr. G. D. Hamilton: lion, surgeons, Dr. S. J. Thompson and L. J. Hunter. Dr. S. J. Thompson expressed the appreciation of the Manawatu Hunt Club for the racing club's fair and generous treatment of those interested in the sport.
