MOTOR IMPORTATION

Mr. A. W. Hawley to Visit England The New Zealand committee of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders in England gathered at morning tea at the Hotel St. George yesterday to say an revoir to Mr. A. W. Hawley, the representative of the society in New Zealand, who will leave on Monday on a visit to America and England. On behalf of the committee, Mr. G. H. Scott, its chairman, presented a gift to Mr. Hawley, and wished him a happy and successful journey. Mr. Hawley will leave on Monday, via Auckland. In the United States he will study trading conditions of the motor industry and in England he will visit the headquarters of the society and make contact with manufacturers. His visit will have special reference to the importation into New Zealand of “knocked down” cars and the development of that phase of the trade of the English manufacturers. He will be accompanied by Mrs. Hawley.
