MONDAY’S WRESTLING

A wrestling match which is bound to produce thrills will be staged at the Wellington Town Hall on Monday night, when Paul Boesch, a recent addition to the Dominion union’s forces, will meet •'Lofty” Blomfield, of Auckland, who will be making his first appearance in Wellington this season. New Zealanders have seen the dropkick demonstrated by Dean Detton and others and have heard of its effectiveness when employed by the ex-world champion, Joe Savoldi, but in Boesch they will see it employed by a man who can make it more deadly than any other mat man who has used . it. Boesch confidently makes two promises to the public. First, that he will live up to his reputation of being the mos. spectacular of the world s wrestlers, and secondly, that neither the spectators nor his opponent will be able to tell when and from what point a dropkick is to be launched. Boesch uses it like a flash at the most unexpected moments, and Ins feet land with terrific force. He so thrilled the Dunedin audience when he made his New Zealand debut last week that a return appearance was immediately asked for. There are few more pojulnr wrestlers in Wellington than Blomfield. whose appearance here has been eagerly awaited since the season opened. He has been showing excellent form in other centres.
