A PROBLEM PLAY
J£EITH WINTER’S problem play, “The Shining Hour,” the third piece in the repertoire of the Williamson Company now drawing crowded audienes to the Wellington Grand Opera House is set in a Yorkshire farmhouse. The Linden family have lived in peace and plenty until one of the Lindens returns with an exotic wife. The quietness of the countryside is soon shattered when this fascinating Mariella Linden works her spell over the other male Lindens, and leaves a trail of hatred and desolation in her wake. Elaine Hamill, who was specially selected by Messrs. J. C. Williamson for this role, following her meteoric success in films and musical comedy, will play this role throughout New Zealand—a role calling for the exercise of all Miss Hamill’s histrionic powers. All members of the company are excellently cast in this play, which will open to-morrow.
