SIGHT RESTORED

Girl Disillusioned Aladge Brewer, of Caine, Wiltshire, was born blind 25 years ago. Now, after a series of operations, she can see. And. strangely, she is disillusioned. In her dream-world of darkness she had imagined that the faces of all those about her were beautiful. She had drawn mind-pictures of wonders which she thought she would never see. To-day sadness is mingled with her joy at the miracle that has happened. Most of the faces which she had imagined to be beautiful now seem ugly to her. Only the flowers, which formerly she knew by their fragrance, have not disappointed her. She will probably wear glasses all her life.
