WELLINGTON WATER BOARD

A Visit of Inspection The Wellington City amt Suburban Water Board recently invited representatives of the Hutt and I’etoue Borough Councils to visit the valley of the Akatarawa and Whakitiki to view the reafforestation operations there. The visit was made yesterday. It; has been argued that this work is vital to lhe preservation of the water 1 in that district, as tbe'potential gravity supply for the Hutt Valley and Wellington in future. It has been felt by members of the board that the Hutt and Petone Borough' Councils, which withdrew from the board some five or six years ago, should return to the fold. It was with that end in view that yesterday's visit of inspection, under the guidance of Mr. A. N. Perham, was arranged.
