Wellington Shows Loss on Last Season A report that it was iu debit to about £l5O was placed before the meeting of the management committee of the Wellington Cricket Association last night by the treasurer, Mr. W. J. R. Christophersen. He said the loss on the working of the season was about £250 and the coaching fund was in debt to about £2OO. Mr. E. J. Aim urged that the association should realise on debentures it held and wipe out its debts and start afresh next season, and with this Mr. P. B. Broad agreed. Mr. Christophersen explained that the policy in the past had been not to wipe out the debt in the coaching fund as it had not all been accumulated in one year. The chairman and the treasurer were appointed a sub-committee to deal with the selling of debentures with a view to wiping out the debts. Mr. Broad remarked that the financial position was better than might have been expected considering the abnormally bad season for weather and attendances. It was reported that the trustees of the association had in hand special funds, and the chairman was empowered to confer with the trustees as to whether this money could be incorporated into the general funds. It was stated that the coaching expenses for last season were about £lBO, toward which £ll7 had been contributed by supporters of the association. General Business. Midland asked what would be the position with promotions and relegations as a result of the competitions last season. It was pointed out that there was automatic relegation up to second grade and that the position with the senior grade was that the question bad to be considered each year when entries were made. The position of the junior D competition, . in which Institute scored 67 points in ten games and Midland 57 points in nine games, was considered at length, and it was pointed out that the rule provided that in such a case Institute won the championship, as the average points scored for each game had to be added to the total scored by a team which had not played the full number of games. Advice that Mr. O. Weudel Bill, Ihe New South Wales representative player, would arrive in New Zealand shortly, possibly to live, was received from Mr. W. 11. Winsor. secretary to the New Zealand Cricket Council. Mr. I’. B. Broad presided over an attendance of Messrs, I. Nimmo, L. J. Brabin, E. J. Aim, 11. E. Moore, L. I’ointon, W. P. Walker, W. J- RChristophersen (treasurer) and A. Varney (secretary).
