Young Man Injured in Motor Accident By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, May 19. Damages totalling £2281/17/6 were awarded in the Supreme Court to-day to Albert Weston Bond, a young man injured in a motor accident on the intersection of Cashel Street and Rolle,«ton Street on September 15, 1935. Defendant was Mrs. Alice Gertrude Goodall, whose car was being driven by her sou at the time. Liability for damages was admit ted, ami Ihe jury was required only to assess the amount. The claim was for £2581/17/6, made up of £Bl/17/6 special damages and £2500 general damages. The Jury awarded the full amount of special damages and £2200 general damages. VERDICT FOR £2743 Youth Permanently .Disabled By Telegraph—l’ress Association. Invercargill. -May 19. The Supreme Court was engaged today in hearing a civil claim iu which lan Robertson, through his guardian, sued Archibald Thomson for damages on account of injuries- received when struck by defendant's motor-ear and permanently disabled. Defendant paid into court £1165, which lie considered a fair seltJenieul. After twenty minnles’ retirement, fin* jury returned with a verdict of £243/10/9 ns special damages and £2500 as general damages, and judgment was entered in favour of plaintiff for £2743/10/9, with costs and disbursements.
