MISSIONARY AUXILIARY
There was a large attendance at the Alay meeting of the Lower Hutt Methodist AA'omen's Missionary Auxiliary, when Airs. H. Peat was appointed a vice-presi-dent. A bring-and-buy 'stall, presided over by Airs. AV. E. Saunders, did brisk trade, and there wa.s a splendid display of baby jackets, nightgowns, books, etc., which had been made by members for the needy Maori children in the Auckland district. The secretary, Airs. L. A r . Phillips, was instructed to purchase further supplies of material and wools to make up into garments. It was reported that a large sack of- clothing had been sent to Sister Ivy Jones, Auckland, and the new garments handed in during the afternoon are also to be forwarded to her. After tea had been served an address was given by Airs. Craven, of Fernhill, Hastings, who spoke on the aims and ideals of the Women's Institute movement in New Zealand, dealing particularly with the country institutes and the wonderful work they were doing among the Alaori- women.
