A FAREWELL PARTY
Mr. and Mrs. C. Holden Entertain The rooms of the National Club, Featherston Street, were the scene of a bright ami cheerful party on Saturday night, when Mr. and Mrs. C. Holden, Karori, entertained a large number of young people at a farewell evening in honour of their daughter Zena, who will leave Wellington by the Rotorua on Thursday for England, where her marriage will take place. The rooms were artistically decorated with baskets and bowls of hydrangeas, chrysanthemums and iceland popples, huge square glass jars of pastel-tinted hydrangeas looking particularly attractive. A tireless orchestra played the latest dance tunes, and there were cards for those who preferred a loss strenuous type of entertainment. A buffet supper was served, and toward the end of the evening al! present' gave a toast to Miss Holden and wished her bon voyage and the best of luck for the future. The guests were received by Mr. and Mrs. Holden and Miss Holden. Mrs. Holden was in a frock of black lace, and wore a pink shoulder spray. Miss Holden’s frock was of silver blue taffeta with cape effect and a yoke of silver sequins. Among those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Atkinson, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Luke, Mr. and Mrs. H. 11.
