KING EDWARD GUEST AT DINNER PARTY

Last Act of Play Staged In Home (Received May 17, 6.30 p.m.) ’ London, May 16. The King was a guest last evening at a dinner party in the West End home of Lady Cunard, one of London’s leading hostesses, who, in regal fashion, staged in her drawing-room the complete last act of “Storm in a Teacup.” The act, including the full cast, scenery and stage hands, was transferred in taxis and private cars from the Haymarket Theatre. There were 16 in the dinner party, and the 20 actors and actresses, fullv made up and costumed, included Sarah Allgood and C. M. Hallard. The King congratulated the cast and patted Miss Allgodd’s mongrel dog, one of the play’s most amusing characters, which was bought from a dogs’ home for 5/-.
