DAY’S BAY WATER
Formal consent to supply water to residents of Day's Bay adjacent to Williams Park was sought by the Wellington City ("outioil in a letter which came before the Hutt County Council yesterday afternoon,. The matter was left in the hands
of the chairman, Mr. D. R. Hoggard, with power to act. It was stated that a search of records disclosed that consent had not been previously obtained by the city council. flunket-red cross ball Effort of Joint Committee Arrangements for (he Red Cross-Phi nket ball to be held in King George Theatre on Monday, May 25. are well in hand. The combined committees are sparing no effort to make this year’s ball equal those of former years. The decision to share this year's proceeds with the Plunkett Society is likely to bring about more interest and assist the needy finances of the Plunket society. Sherwood’s Sylvina Dance Band has been engaged. The hall decorations will again be a feature of the evening.
For the convenience of Wellington visitors a special bus will leave for the city after the ball.
