SIX TANKS ORDERED
Commonwealth Government (Received May 13, 9.35 pin.) Canberra, May 13. Six of the latest British tanks, to cost £60,000. have been ordered in England by the Commonwealth Government for training purposes. The Defence Department also contemplates strengthening the militia, which is still about 8000 men below the peace-time establishment of 35.000. it is proposed to make service more interesting aud to embark on an advertising campaign for voluntary recruits.
