Domestic Service

Sir,—l was very much luterested in “Harassed Mother's” letter iu Saturday’s “Dominion.” In the first place she owns to a “little family” which she cannot take to committee meetings. But why committee meetings at all? Surely there would be time enough when the children are able to look after themselves to devote one’s time to social welfare work; ought not her husband and children to come first? I don’t mean that she should be a slave to them, but let her enjoy herself in such a way that her family is not neglected, which they must be by this “ardent welfare worker.” If this new union eventuates and is the means of causing young mothers to give up.social work aud set their house in order, it will be a godsend to husband and little ones. — I am, cte., CHILDREN FIRST.
