OFF TO OLYMPIAD
New Zealand Team Leaves Sydney (Received May 13, 10.30 p.m.) Sydney, May 13. The New Zetland, New South Wales and the Queensland competitors who embarked on the Mongolia for the Olympic Games at Berlin, were to-day farewelled by thousands of friends and admirers The police band played “Advance Australia” and “Auld Lang Syne” Lively scenes amid a maze of coloured streamers culminated in the German Consul-General, Dr. Asmis, presenting the commander of the Mongolia with the Olympic (lag in the name of the German Olympic Committee. He assured the teams from the Dominions of a most cordial welcome. The personnel of the Australian Olympic team is as follows: —Athletics: J. Metcalfe, G. Backhouse, A. Watson, E. Woodhouse, B. Dickinson and Miss D. Carter. Swimming: ? Oliver, R. Masters. W. Kendall, Misses I’. Norton, K. Mackay, and E. le Lacey Boxing and wrestling: R. Garrard, L Cook, E. Scarf, L. Harley, 11. Cooper and J. O’Hara. Cycling.: E. Gray, C. Wheeler and T. Johnson. Rowing: New South Wales police crew, Cecil Bearce and 11. Turner.
