Those who gave their services included Messrs. H. F. Wood, Frank Crowther, Will Mason, Harison Cook and Charles Proctor, also Ossie Cheesman’s band, and a! smart jazz band from Taranaki. The last-named combination, Vlnsen’s Ambassadors, performed the feat of playing for a dance in Stratford on Tuesday night, appearing in the St. James at midday, then setting off with the intention of being back.- in Stratford in time for more jollifications last night. ■ . The sing was pronounced a signal succes.s, and the takings, £ll, were considered as satisfactory in view of the weather conditions.
