R.S.A. CARD PARTY
There was a record attendance last evening at the headuarters of the Kilbirnie, Lyall Bay and Melrose Auxiliary Committee, W.R.S.A., in Bay Road, Kilbirnle, to take part in the weekly bridge and ‘'soo” tournament. Miss J. F. Fisher and Mrs. F. Wrigley were successful at bridge, and Mrs. S. Farrcnt and Mr. T. G. Froude gained, the prizes for ”500.” The chairman of the auxiliary, Mr. D. Gunn, thanked the card players for their attendance and stated that the final returns for Poppy Day showed that a total of more than £55 had been collected in the district, which was a very creditable effort on the part of those who had assisted the auxiliary. Mrs. H. Q Bruce, president of the ladies’ committee, reminded the la dies of the forthcoming bazaar, and asked for donations towards the stalls. The auxiliary proposes to hold a social evening shortly for which a special programme is being arranged. At the card afternoon held by the ladies’ committee last week the prize-winners were Mrs. Lea th wick, bridge, and Mrs. V. McLeod, “500”
