, Horticultural Society’s Show At Northland It was very creditable to the Northland Horticultural Society that there was such a fine display of flowers and vegetables at St. Anne's Hall, Northland, yesterday, after the ravages of wind anti heavy rain during the past week. Mrs. Knox Gilmer, president of the Wellington Horticultural Society, congratulated the Northland society on this achievement when she opened its autumn show last night. A large exhibit of pot plants and ferns from Mr. B. Sutherland’s garden, “Homewood," Karori, occupied the centre stand, and the vegetable entries made a brave showing at another large stand. Mr. G. S. Nicoll. president of the Northland society, thanked Mrs. Knox Gilmer for opening the show. The results in the various sections are summarised below: — Chrysanthemums: W. D. Rough, 2 firsts, 1 second : D. Packwood. 4 firsts, 1 second ; champion bloom (Wm. Turner) exhibited by W. D. Rough. Cut flowers: Mrs. F. S. Grant. 4 firsts, 2 seconds; Mrs. L. Lain, 1 first. 1 second; Mrs. Von Keisenberg, 1 first; Mrs. Boyes, 1 first. I second. , Decorative: Mrs. G. S. Nicoll, 4 firsts. 3 seconds: Mrs. Boyes. 1 first. 1 third: Mrs. Von Keisenberg, 1 first; Mrs. F. S. Grant. 1 second.
