I lost 15 pounds while doing my last picture. That made me reallise as I never had before, the toll that [continuous work before the cameras exacts.” Powell has. been one of the [screen’s steadiest and hardest workers rfor more than 10 years. The result has been a demand for his services that he has been unable to fill, even by making as many as five pictures a year.

Brilliantly . adapted from Pierre Benoit’s great drama of love and intrigue at the court of Lautenbourg, “Koenigsmark,” the first of C.®* M. Woolf Anglo-French productions for British Empire Films, has been filmed on most lavish and spectacular lines with a colossal cast headed by Elissn Landi, who was brought from Hollywood especially for the role.
