Declared an Habitual Criminal “I notice you have a fairly substantial list,” commented Mr. Justice Reed in the Supreme Court, Wellington, yes terday, when declaring James Perry an habitual criminal Perry came before the court for sentence on a charge of breaking and entering a dwelling at Wellington with intent to commit a crime. On the present charge to which Perry bad pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court, sentence of 12 months’ imprisonment with bard labour was imposed. "It Is quite clear that in the interests of the public you have to be restrained." said bis Honour, after reading prisoner’s list of previous convictions which dated back to 1921.
