FAREWELL TO MR. E.G. WALLACE

The partners and members of the i-taiT of Ernest Hunt, Turner and Heslop met yesterday iu the board room of the firm to bid farewell to Mr. E. G. Wallace, who has been a member of the staff for some years and who is now leaving for Sydney to take np a position in that city. Mr. Hunt expressed the firm’s high appreciation of the very capable and loyal services Mr. Wallace had rendered and the cordial esteem in which he had always been held. He made reference to the educational qualifications of Mr. Wallace mid mentioned that he had passed the whole accountancy examination before the age of 19, had graduated as t Bachelor of Commerce of the University of New Zealand before reaching twenty-one, and on his twenty-third birthday had been notified by the university that he had passed the examination of the degree of Master of Commerce with first-class honours. On behalf of the firm Mr. Wallace was presented with an- inscribed fountain pen set. Jlr. 'Wallace paid tribute to the valunlde training he bad received in the firm's office and to the fine spirit which existed between the partners and all the members of the staff. He was extremely sorry to leave the firm, he said, and lie was'making the break only after very .careful thought and consideration.
