Wellington Centre Wins World Competition TARANAKI CENTRE NINTH By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, April 29. 'i’lie William Henry Memorial Cup, the only trophy open for competition among branches of the Royal Life Saving Soeielv throughout the world, has been won for 1935 by the 'Wellington centre. This advice was received by the Dominion Council of the society tonight. Leeds (Yorkshire), last year’s winner, was second, and the Taranaki centre ninth. The cup is awarded to the branch achieving the best results for life-sav-ing as shown by the percentage increase in points in any one year over the average of the previous two years. The Wellington branch’s increase was 45.1 per cent, on the average for the previous two years.
