4 Hokitika Fisherman Drowned By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hokitika, April 29. When the fishing boat Tairi Annie was crossing the Hokitika bar this evening a heavy sea struck her, washing Richard Thornton overboard. A lifebuoy was thrown to him, but drifted along the beach, and though a boat went out it was unable to reach the man before he disappeared. Thornton was 31 years of age and bis people reside at Christchurch. The body has not been recovered.
