Thomas, announced the appointment of a commission consisting of Sir Wilfred Woods, late Financial .Secretary in Ceylon, Miss Pickton Turberville mid Mr C. A. Willis, late of the Sudan Civil Service, to visit Hong-Kong and Malaya to investigate the Mui Tsai problem and make recommendations Mui Tsai is a form of slavery disguised under the name of '‘adoption” of children. It was rife in Hong-Kong several years ago. and the Anti-Slavery Society laboured successfully for its abolition. Now it would appear that the system has broken out again.
