MAN’S THIRD DEATH SENTENCE
Murder of Papua Natives (Received March 6, 8.20 p.m.) Rabaul, March 6. Ludwig Schmidt was sentenced to death for the wilful murder of two natives on September 14, 1934. Crown evidence showed that Schmidt ordered two servants to fire on the natives, who were killed Instantly. When sentenced Schmidt dramatically shouted: “It is not true.” Sehmidt was twice last’ month sentenced to death for the murder of na- ; fives.
