Writing from Corning, New York State, 011 February 5, Mrs. 11. It. Black, formerly Miss Jean Plimmer, visited the great glassworks in that city and saw the famous 200-foot lens which had been cooling off for the last year, Tlie lens, tlie largest by far ever made, is for the Mount Wilson Observatory, and was to have been forwarded west by special transport ft week after the letter left. The glassworks at Corning are said to be the largest in the world. The Italian Lloyd Tfiestino Line is to transport 80,000 polish Jews from Trieste, to Tel-Aviv, Palestine, during 1930.
