Prices Advance Further A further advance in prices of sheepskins and hides was made at the sale held yesterday by the Wellington brokers. Sheepskins: Smaller catalogues were offered. There was an exceptionally strong demand for all descriptions, prices being id. to id. better than late rates. Pelts sold particularly well at prices id. better. Only n few salteds were offered. Hides: Exporters and tanners operated freely on all lots submitted, values appreciating on well-conditioned lines. Heavy ox Jd. higher, lights and mediums fully par. cow heavy 1-Sd. better, lights and mediums easier. Calf sold at .about last sale’s values. Tallow: The market declined further, exporters operating sparingly.. As compared with previous rates, prices were lower by l/-,to 1/6 per cwt. The range of prices is as follows:— Dry sheepskins: Fine crossbred, 9Jdto 12d. a Ih.; medium crossbred. 84d. to lOd.; coarse crossbred, 7d. to 91d.; halfwools, 6d. to 9Jd.; quarter-wools, 6id. to Bfd.; pelts, 6Jd. to 7Jd. Salted skins: Quarter-wools, 2/3 to 3/7 each ; lambs, 2/4 to 3/-.
