Lower Hutt Nursing Division There was a good attendance ot members of the Lower Hutt Nursing Division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade at the first meeting for 1936, held in the Wesley Hall, Lower Hutt, recently. Work for the year was discussed in full and it was decided to liold a dance early in -May. A dance committee comprising Alisses Walker, Roy Stiles, Harland and Maefarlane wa» set up to make the necessary prepara tions. It was also decided to hold a first-aid class at a date in Alarch to be announced later. This class will be open to any who wish to take advantage of the opportunity of learning how to be of service in time of accident or sudden illness. Members feel that if any who are interested in ambulance work would attend some of the meetings Hie association would have a strong division of nurses ready and willing to give service at all times Meetings are held on every first and third .Monday in the month and a cordial invitation is given to all who may be interested to attend. W.C.T.U. Cradle Roll Party The members'of the Karori W.C.T.U. entertained between 60 and 70 mothers and children at a cradle-roll party in the Methodist schoolroom recently. Airs. Perryman spoke to the children and later addressed the mothers. Afternoon tea was served, after which the children joined in games; concluding with a children's hymn and the Benediction, pronounced by the pres! dent.
