SILK SHIPMENTS DELAYED

Owing to a very heavy snowfall in the districts in Japan which are the centres of the silk and rayon textiles industry, February and March shipments are likely to he delayed, according to a letter received by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce from the Consul-General for Japan stationed in Sydney. Tim letter slated that the Kukui and Kanazawa districts were the centres, and the snowfall had Considerably hampered the production and tiansport of the goods. The Japanese sill and rayon textile exporters were desirous that New Zealand buyers should appreciate the position and come to some satisfactory arrangement should any difficulty or dispute arise
